Though it had initially refused, Germany has now agreed to validate the hand written passports issued by Nepal government after April 1.
Nepal has continued to issue hand-written passports after missing the April 1, 2010 deadline given by International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) to start issuing Machine Readable Passports (MRP).
Nepal government had circulated requests to ICAO members to recognise the hand written passports till August this year by which the government expects to deliver MRP.
It was Germany who rejected the government requested initially. Last week, Germany’s interior affairs ministry decided to accept Nepal’s hand-written passports.
